Children Accessories- the French Beret

One of the oldest and stylish known school children accessories from Europe continent includes the French berets. The story unfolded in the mid 1950’s but before then they were commonly worn by artists and shepherds in France. Since then, they became a very predominant component of school uniform for boys and girls and for purposes of classifying themselves, each school’s French beret had distinct ribbon tied around its base. As a consequence the same fashion became rampant in Belgium and even the English men followed suite.

French berets are normally light in weight and warm making them versatile during school trips. Back in those early days, they also became a component of scouting uniforms around the world. They typically are available in a wide flat rounded top, a string or ribbon at the base and fitting brim for an average child. Everyone who has seen scouting attire knows the French berets as well. Now, they are not as popular between both genders school uniforms though if worn, they still look striking. Nowadays, children have better headwear accessories such as hat styles loved even by top icons.
If one may try describing an online image of a classic French beret for children and adults, the starting point would be their smooth fabric finish as well as ruby color. In those days when this was strictly treated as a school accessory, the ribbon at its base normally looked alike with the rest of school attires for any given French school. The adult’s beret does not have this adornment now and it never did while the latest for kids still carry the elegant ribbon. Girls have not completely ditched this style and they now have collections of berets from other fashions designers from say England. Some moms can even go traditional and with some knitting needles and thread they can make French berets at home for themselves or children, shop online or from malls.
